Reach for the Stars and Dig into Earth Science

Join the Jeffers Foundation to uncover Earth and Space Science core ideas while teaching and learning outdoors. This three-day institute focuses on the core ideas of: weather, sun/stars/moon, Minnesota Geology, water and watersheds, erosion, and human impacts on the environment. Educators will be engaged in science practices as they conduct field investigations, collect and present data while using journals, design and discuss solutions to minimize human impacts on the environment while working on engineering challenges, and more. Instruction will also include cross cutting concepts that focus on developing and using models while capitalizing on using one’s school grounds as an essential extension of the Earth Science classroom. Target audience: K-12 educators.
