Full course description
Incorporating Multidisciplinary Lessons on YOUR School Grounds in WINTER
Join the Jeffers Foundation to participate in outdoor lessons that apply to multiple subject areas with a science focus, and learn techniques for effective outdoor instruction in winter. This teacher institute will focus on outdoor instruction and the application of Jeffers Foundation teaching resources that have been designed by Minnesota teachers. Participating educators will develop observation skills through sensory activities aimed to lead to writing lessons and research projects, and design and conduct investigations that uncover patterns and phenomena that shape our Minnesota winter landscape. Institute activities are multidisciplinary, standards-based and combine journaling with winter topics such as snow science, animal tracking, animal and plant adaptations, sledding physics, and more.
