2025 Fall - COSP 6998-5 - Asset-Based Writing with Multilingual Learners

The goal of this course is to support educators in developing writing instruction that is inclusive, responsive, and rooted in an asset-based approach to teaching multilingual learners. Participants will explore research-based practices that recognize and build on students’ cultural and linguistic strengths, with a focus on scaffolding academic language and writing development. By the end of the course, educators will be equipped to design instruction that affirms student identities, promotes equitable outcomes, and supports multilingual learners in becoming confident, capable writers.
