Incorporating Multidisciplinary Lessons on YOUR School Grounds

Join the Jeffers Foundation to participate in outdoor lessons that apply to multiple subject areas with a science focus, and gain and share tips to become more confident leading outdoor lessons with your students. This teacher institute will focus on outdoor instruction and the application of Jeffers Foundation teaching resources that have been designed by Minnesota teachers. Multidisciplinary lessons centered on science concepts will include: general observation skills, reading the landscape of your school grounds, Phenology, plants and animals, weather, and designing and conducting investigations to develop science and inquiry skills while working outside using science journals. 

Institute Dates: July 13-15, 2026 Time: 8:00am-4:00pm Assignments due by July 30th
